In this groundbreaking new course, business professionals will learn how to effectively use artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT to improve their written English. The first course of its kind, Writing for AI goes beyond traditional offerings that simply help students become passive users of AI tools. Instead, this Special Focus course was designed to help students use AI tools to find their own voice, articulate their unique point of view and create effective texts that are undeniably their own—so they can succeed in the digital global community.

Compare their written texts with those of their classmates

Writing with AI at Work is designed for professionals looking to hone their business writing skills and focuses on helping students write emails, CVs, cover letters, blogs, LinkedIn posts, reports and proposals.

In a homestay, you will have all the support and safety of home-life along with all the comforts and conveniences that go with it.

You will live as your host family live, so it's a great way to experience Cape Town culture. The big advantage of a homestay is the chance to talk to your host family in English, and in a very natural way outside school!

Twin rooms must be booked by two students travelling together.

Description of Local Area
Dorp Street House is located in the heart of the CBD. It is within walking distance of well-known, trendy Long Street, which has restaurants, cafes, pubs and clubs. The house has a warm, welcoming feel to it and there is a living room that is quite cosy where students are able to relax, watch tv or play board games. There is a fully equipped kitchen to which students have access, and a restaurant onsite. The house is an ideal base from which you can experience Cape Town at its very best. The Company Gardens and the South African Museum are also just a few streets away and many other tourist attractions such as Table Mountain or the V&A Waterfront are also close by.

Description of Accommodation
The house has an antique theme to it, and the décor in the common areas will definitely make anyone feel quite nostalgic! There are 15 beds in total, made up of single and shared rooms. Each room has good lighting and a desk for studying. Some of the rooms lead out onto a balcony area where you can have a breath of fresh air or have a view of Table Mountain. Rooms and bed linen are changed weekly. There are shared bathrooms for students and each room also has a small basin for a quick wash. The house is deep cleaned twice per week, including all communal areas. Students are responsible for keeping their own space clean and tidy. Cleaning up is especially important after you have used the kitchen for cooking. Upon arrival, the house staff will show students to their rooms, hand over keys, provide the student with the house rules and show students how to get to the EC English school. The easiest way to get to school is by walking, as the accommodation is only 1km away.

Description of Local Area
BlackBrick is located in the Foreshore, only a 9-minute walk to EC Cape Town. It is on the main pedestrian road within the city, St George’s Mall, so is convenient to walk through the city uninterrupted by traffic. The surrounding area has a number of coffee shops and the SALT food market, as well as a fully-equipped gym. The central train and bus stations are within a 5-minute walk, and there is a bank, pharmacy and supermarket close by. It is also a 5-minute walk from Bree Street, the trendy restaurant street in the Cape Town city centre, as well as a 5-minute walk to a fast-food area of Long Street. Overall, the accommodation is very central, with the school and all necessary amenities within a 10-minute walk.

BlackBrick offers fully private one bedroom apartments or studios with en-suite bath, a self-catering kitchen, Smart TV for streaming, free wi-fi, study desk and cupboard. The kitchen includes a small bar fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and stove, with utensils provided. Ironing and hair-drying facilities available on request.
