Freeda Language Space

I’ve been studying at Freeda Language Space for about a year now, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with my experience. From the very first lesson, you’re not just memorizing grammar and vocabulary, you’re actually using the language. That made such a difference for me.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you never feel embarrassed about making mistakes. Even the tiniest bits of progress are noticed and encouraged, which really helps build confidence.

What I love most is that the teaching is practical, and everything we learn feels useful in real life. The classes are engaging, well-organized, and genuinely supportive.

They also go beyond just lessons, creating opportunities to connect socially and explore the culture. That meant a lot to me as someone new to the city and to Spanish culture. It made the whole experience feel much bigger than just learning a language.

Antes de venir a Barcelona, mi marido y yo analizamos todas las opciones de escuelas de español acreditadas en la ciudad. Freeda nos gustó por su página web intuitiva, donde todo estaba explicado con bastante detalle, y también por el precio. Se puso en contacto con nosotros la gerente María y nos ayudó no solo con la elección del curso, sino también con los documentos para la visa de estudiante, ya que en ese momento estábamos bastante confundidos. Durante todo el tiempo (desde el primer contacto hasta el día de hoy) nos hemos sentido acompañados y apoyados tanto por la administración de la escuela como por los profesores. Estoy muy agradecida a Freeda por esta experiencia.
Elegimos un curso intensivo de un año. El programa fue muy útil: estudiábamos el material en grupo, de manera gradual y en un ambiente relajado (todo depende del profesor, ya que cambian cada dos meses y cada uno tiene su propio enfoque de enseñanza y del idioma). Asimilando poco a poco los contenidos y aprobando los exámenes entre niveles, avancé de A2 a B2 (aprobé el SIELE con 695 puntos después de la mitad del curso en la escuela).
Además de la parte académica, participé varias veces en las actividades organizadas por la escuela: celebramos juntos la Navidad y Halloween, hicimos excursiones por lugares interesantes de Barcelona, salimos fuera de la ciudad, jugamos al voleibol en la playa, etc. También conocimos a personas que se convirtieron en nuestros amigos. En resumen, ¡fue un año muy intenso, agradable y lleno de calidez!

I really enjoyed learning Spanish at Freeda because the classes were engaging, and the teachers not only taught Spanish brilliantly but also brought Spain’s culture into the lessons. That was especially helpful for me as someone moving from the UK to Barcelona.

Freeda also has a great community. I made new friends through the course and had the chance to learn about different cultures, since students come from all over the world. On top of that, Freeda hosts activities that showcase local traditions in Barcelona and create a genuinely fun, welcoming atmosphere.

I’m really glad I chose to learn Spanish at Freeda because the course structure helped me build confidence, and the teachers were patient and supportive resulting in me overcoming my initial shyness.

Freeda Language Space is a really diverse and welcoming place. It is really easy to feel comfortable there and that was my first impression. It suits every type of persons. Also, I feel like the two locations are amazing and they basically make Freeda approachable for everyone in terms of getting there easily. I like that the professors always talk in Spanish, regardless of your level, which makes learning fun and easier. That helped me a lot and because of that I started speaking with locals during my A2 level without being afraid. People that work there are always ready to answer your questions and being there feels like being part of the community. Books are covering interesting topics and we always had speaking part of every class, which made us learn how to cover different topics in a foreign language. I liked the space because it never felt like school, but more like a community space. All the teachers that I met there were amazing, and really good with sharing their knowledge but also some local tips for speaking in this part of Spain. All in all, I would really recommend Freeda to everyone who wants to learn Spanish (specific level or in general) We had a lot of fun activities organized and there is always something provided from school that helps you speak language and practice in a fun way!

I had a wonderful experience at Freeda Language Space. Over the course of one year, I progressed to the C1 level, which I am very proud of. The teaching was consistently high quality, and the teachers were supportive, engaging, very friendly, and truly passionate about their work.

What I valued most was the school community and the overall atmosphere. It always felt welcoming and motivating, and I genuinely enjoyed going to class every day.

I also liked the bright and comfortable space in the Gràcia neighborhood, which made studying very pleasant. The school also organized many interesting excursions and activities that helped us practice Spanish in real-life situations and feel more connected to the local culture.

I was very grateful for this experience and would highly recommend Freeda Language Space to anyone who wanted to improve their Spanish (or Catalan!) in a friendly and professional environment. This experience truly changed my life, and now I can freely express myself in Spanish, which has brought my life in Barcelona to a whole new level.

I attended an intensive Spanish course at Freeda Language Space in El Born. I was amazed by the location, it's indeed one of most beautiful and vibrant locations in the heart of the city. During the course i was facing various teachers as the school policy is keen to give you 'access' to different accents and approach, though based on the same program and the school book. The teaching method involved active listening, encouraged us to speak up and we also had a 1h grammar lesson which i enjoyed a lot. During my course i also attended cultural events: museum visit, hiking, etc - always accompanied by school teachers and my fellow classmates. I fell in love with both language and culture thanks to Freeda!
