Language Studies International (LSI): Cambridge (Junior)

Well, all in all, it was in the middle of good and bad. My first week at LSI began and at first, we read a text about technology and in this text, I learned a lot of new vocabulary, i.e. "disort the truth". Disort the truth means to lie. That was quite good because my English improved a lot. On the 2nd day, we learned a lot of new grammar and played a little Kahoot. That challenged me as well although some of the students spoke in their native language because some of the students were from the same country and so that they could speak in their own language and therefore, it was bothering me a lot. I said to the students that they must speak in English and to make them clear that we are here to improve my/our language, and not to speak in the native language and to have a translator all the time with the person being partly not capable of speaking English. This is the past, but I am making it very clear: The LSI building must be an English spoken zone, and not a native language zone, except in breaks. During the last two days, we did a little project with PowerPoint in small groups. My partner was very reliable and was capable of speaking good English. So, my first week at LSI was over.
My 2nd week began and I was motivated to learn more English and to use it better as it originally was, but then I worked out that last week there were so much kids and that was why they let me going into a class challenging me and that was also the reason why there were just two courses. During the 2nd week, we didn't do anything serious. We didn't do any grammar, we did nothing. And if we did grammar, it was grammar from the lower levels, let's say A1+, A2- although everybody of us in the course was in the upper level. There were two courses, one course was called the upper level and one course the lower level. I was in the upper level, but you cannot call this an "upper course" cos some of the students I worked with weren't capable of speaking English, i.e. one of the students called his mother and they needed a while until I realized what they meant. The number of the students was also different. In the first week, there were 19 kids in one class and in the 2nd week, there were 15 kids in one class. That was too much.

The location is great and the room is very comfortable.
and the activities were very interesting, especially the trip to London.
I believe I improved my English a lot through this experience.
I hope to come back with more time!
