Experience English: Autumn Moments is an 8-day English course and holiday in Scotland for adult second-language English speakers at intermediate level and above.

**The course begins on Friday and runs for 8 days, including the full weekend. Saturday and Sunday are part of the Experience English programme, not free days.**

All Experience English holidays are no-classroom English experiences. Instead of separating English lessons from activities, we create situations where you need and want to use English naturally. The English isn't separated from the experience: using it is the experience.

**What makes Autumn Moments different is its pace.** We deliberately allow nature and the Scottish autumn to set the rhythm of the week. Rather than trying to see as much as possible, we make time to notice what is changing around us, stay longer in interesting places and enjoy experiences without always needing to turn them into achievements.

Based in Crieff, Perthshire, we explore the season through landscape, wildlife, seasonal food, historic places, culture, arts and crafts, and encounters with local people.

Ruth is an experienced language coach with an arts background and extensive experience of sharing Scottish place, culture and wildlife with international guests. She brings these together to create experiences that give you something genuinely interesting to notice, ask about, make, explore and discuss. Where specialist knowledge is valuable, we also work with local nature guides, growers, artists, makers and other experts.

Your week might include walking through autumn woodland, canoeing on a Scottish loch, travelling across Loch Katrine by boat, spending time with a nature guide, watching seasonal and migrating birds, visiting a farm or grower, cooking with autumn produce, making arts and crafts, exploring castles and historic places, or meeting local artists and makers. Activities vary according to the season, weather, local opportunities and the interests of the group.

Many participants have spent years learning English through courses, books, work, travel and independent study. Autumn Moments gives particular attention to something they may have had fewer opportunities to develop: sustained fluency and greater comfort using the English they already know.

The maximum group size is three. This allows us to shape the experience around the people taking part while giving everyone plenty of genuine conversation and individual language support.

The course is particularly well suited to adults who enjoy being in nature, historic Scotland, wildlife, seasonal food, culture, making things and meaningful conversation. You should enjoy being outdoors and be comfortable walking approximately 8–10 kilometres in a day.
